About Us

Founded in Hanover in 1871, global tyre manufacturer Continental has evolved to become renowned for its advanced technologies, cutting-edge design and solutions that are all integral to the market-leading Truck & Bus (TBR) range currently distributed in Australia and New Zealand.

A pioneer in the development of tyres since the company’s inception, Continental has had many international “firsts” in the advancement of tyres. Not only was it the first company to develop grooved auto tyres, amongst Continental’s other earlier milestones was its invention of detachable wheel rims for touring cars. It was also the first company to develop springs for trucks and buses, going on to develop the first environmentally friendly tyres for passenger cars. These breakthroughs continue today as Continental progresses with innovation combined with a future-oriented vision.

The Continental Corporation is today divided into the Automotive Group and the Rubber Group and consists of five divisions. As part of Continental’s Commercial Vehicle Tyres business unit, its focused TBR range is the end result of extensive research and innovation that is inherent in all its tyres. These specialised tyres are designed and manufactured for many and varying applications, road conditions, types of vehicle, driver behaviour and customer requirements.

With plants located throughout the world, Continental’s expert R&D and tyre engineering teams have forged Continental a reputation as one of the most trusted and sought-after tyre brands for the TBR market segment. As with all its products, Continental’s TBR range is a product of advanced technologies that meet the practical demands of this heavy-duty transport sector, while introducing a new era of possibility.

Continental is committed to enhanced safety, sustainability and mobility for the future – all key components of its TBR range.
